Something Special TOUR:
- Showtime starting 30 minutes late on the dot.
"One bit of information I heard is that Sunny's drum tech went out and purchased/gathered the gear they are using to do the soundboard streams. To make it possible. So it sounds like it is an effort of some crew members with band members blessing, from what I have heard." -Dgold (Find that picture) - If you watch closely (VERY CLOSELY, it's hard to tell at the shows) Sunny has a hurt foot or leg (wearing a brace), since before Spring Tour began. This is causing him to sit on a stool for parts of the show, and he is leaning out over his drums, in a different position than the usual, for parts of the playing. Example, in St Louis notice he did not leave the stage after Set 2, pre-Encore. He just sat down in his kit area and waited. -Dgold
- Sunny's injured (aircast walking brace) > no "full" Drums
- Lack of any full Drums segment over 5:55 seconds (05/02 New Orleans)
- Dave Schools rackmount rig "Bass Mountain Mark 2.0"
- Jimmy Herring new Rig
- Band announces via Twitter & Facebook that live Soundboard streams will be available http://mixlr.com/widespread-panic/stage/ (04/12/13)
- Jojo's taking piano solos before some of his songs like 'Greta' (Columbia) and 'Blackout Blues' (Chicago)
- Spring Tour Recap added to website with pictures by Andy Tenille and short reviews.
- Widespread Panic live at WFPK (Audio Stream of Danny, Eric, JB & Todd)
- Video: Fans calling the tour opener in St. Louis
- Video: The boys sit in on 'Cortez the Killer' with Gov't Mule 04/19/2013
- Col Bruce video of Tour Opener
- Only 2 Sandwiches so far (driving songs)...
- Sick nasty encores
- 1st set closing with heaters

- The limestone-clad building at Market and Fourteenth streets was once the old Kiel Opera (est. 1936), and played host to Sinatra and The Rat Pack, but closed its doors in '91... for many many years, and was renovated and reopened as the Peabody Opera House, just in time for Panic 2011
- Only the 5th time in 10 years the band has played St. Louis
- Hope you're all ready for some tour opening Midwest heatfire!
- Tuesday show
- Reserved Seating with Pit
- Stream: Bennett Schwartz aka Coloartist
- Bear sculpture out front
7. There is a really sweet bar on the first floor of the venue called "The Kiel Club" and a large smoking terrace that is easily accessible from the main lobby and overlooks the street. The venue itself is non-smoking.
13. The venue is great and a full house for Panic on a Wednesday should make for a very good show!
6th- Afterparty: Broadway Oyster bar is fantastic for after the show but it's on the small size. It is NOT on the Landing. B.B's Blues Jazz and Soups is next door and open till 3am. Soulard is a short cab ride from the Peabody and loaded with good drinking spots. I'll find more info if anyone askes.
Hope all this helps.

Show Review:
- Snappy, punchy solid version of LGDTB…
- Brief pause… tapping of drums, cheering. Excitement. Todd getting his kick drum right and JB / Jimmy launching into sustain, singing notes of Little Kin.
- Gimme finds itself in the usual Tuesday spot, but a real rarity early in the 1st set…
- Wondering - kicking it into high gear in the jam.
- double time Jimmy and Schools just killing it.
- Quickly transitioning into Rebirtha… how sweet it must be right at the doorstep of Cardinals Stadium (?)
- The jam segment is stretching out and Jimmy Herring is fucking killing it towards the end.
- Loud ovation after 'I'm Not Alone' - great, soaring version.
- All Time Low on deck… sounding great.
- Smooth and more relaxed jam materializes out of ATL…
- Thought Sausage > Machine > Barstools
- JB misses the Heir to an open Barstool and skips into the 2nd verse… getting' the band all messed up. They falls into a groove and Jimmy takes a little lead play, and jump back on the 2nd verse like they never missed a beat.
- Only a Dark Bar jam in Good People.
- "this definitely doesn't feel like the 1st show of tour or any kind of warm-up. engines are started." -Shannon Kiss

- 'Woah, babies don't even need the words yet! Stealing my place, seeing colors around the people, too. Baby hadn't seen grandma, grandpa down there…. now, now. Old people only talk, anyway… with words and illusions they think they know. They really love babies, they really love… don't really care what the people think. Really love, really love. Oh, lights comin' from behind the counter, Miss Lee. Her smile. Hey there, sit right down. Just listen to some music on the radio, radio, radio. Yes, coffee there keepin' my blood a little warm, a little longer. Before I have to go, have to go, have to go. Before the respectable church, church-going people in their Sunday best come in. Said, aww remember what he says? There, they got their own church sometimes. Sometimes they preach with words, or with no words at all. Hangin' in the light. Hangin' in the light. Something Special:
- Edie Jackson Sign Language at the show
- A Jojo show - 4 songs (Blackout, Visiting Day, Greta and Bust It Big)
- Show 2 begins with a short Jojo piano breakdown reminiscent of Professor Longhair... which will continue throughout the tour. His name noted on the setlist... and rolls into Blackout Blues. JB's wah slide solo is wicked... Jimmy mimics his runs with whammy bending and dive bombing notes.
- Lightning bolt start/stop into 'Disco', seems like Jimmy's guitar cuts out a couple minutes into the song and comes for a solo. Schools steps on a deep, envelope funk pedal and rips it up with Jimmy

- Crowd Ovation after Travelin' Light
- Old Visiting Day with new lyrics

- Sick transition into ALG
"Mister" Jimmy Heutmaker was a Minnesota legend, who had an engaging personality despite developmental disabilities, and knew most everyone's name he ever met. Heutmaker attended a Rolling Stones concert at the Danceland Ballrom, and the next day Mick Jagger was having a prescription filled at Bacon's Drugstore where he encountered Jimmy, who said to him, "You can't always get what you want", after receiving a regular Coca Cola in place of his Cherry Coke.

Mmm, I think I got some yesterday's donuts... hadn't gotten to hard. I put 'em next to the tea pot, the steam'll bring'm right back. When I was young, that's what we used to do. Old, crusty bread is all we had then. We had Krystals, too [hahaha]. There's a new fresh pot, there. Here's 50 cents go put a couple songs in the jukebox. Before the respectable people, with all there fancy faces come in here. Let's have our own little party... she said. Put a quarter it the juke and boogie 'til you feel the music. She said, said it's a highway to heaven, and none can go up there, except the full hearted. Said it's a highway to heaven, and none can go up there, but the full hearted. First time, ever I saw your face, you were sleeping as the night fell to dawn. Felt something like a mighty wind, oh, a might wind, a voice like many waters circled my soul. Surprise attack on the heart... ease my soul. Said it's a highway to heaven, none can go up there, but the full hearted. See us walkin' together, talkin' together, all the lands, hand in hand. A little sunshine peepin' through the glass, the words on the glass just, restin' up against my coffee cup, keep it warm a little longer... just like Miss Lee's smile. Ohhh... hangin' in the light. Oh, baskin' in her light, hangin' in the diner, sittin' in the light of Miss Lee... Aww!' during-Diner. (04/27/13)
