All Time Low

I'm gonna do a bunch of songs I've written over the years for ya. This one is a blues song I wrote in Mississippi. I wrote this not in Oxford, Mississippi, but there's a place called Sardis Lake, and my band, Beanland, would play parties out at this lake on the beach.

We were playing, and I had my girlfriend there. We'd been going out for like a year. We were pretty hot and heavy. So, we were jamming out "Franklin's Tower" and during "Franklin's" she starts buddying up with this guy, and they're kinda chatting up and getting friendly. We kept playing and everything and doing the gig.

And then a few minutes later we were playing "Women Are Smarter." "That's right, women are smarter. Women are smarter, that's right." But then she started getting really tight with this guy, and then she's holding his arm and they're getting really chatty and laughing and everything, and I'm like... I'm starting to feel kinda low. I'm starting to feel a little low about it, and I just kept playing, because I'm a professional.

So, we keep playing and then I notice she starts holding this guy's arm and they start walking off to the bonfire at the end of the beach, and they start walking off together. We were in the middle of a "Shakedown" jam and we were killing it, and ya know... what was I gonna do? I wasn't gonna get it up. So, I just had to let her go. And we never spoke again.

So anyways I wrote a blues song about that night on the beach, and it's called "All Time Low."
