The song ‘Fishing,’ the first song on the record, started with Todd and I going in and just jamming on... bass and drums, just fooling around. We went back and made a loop out of it. John [Keane] copied the loop and started fooling around with some guitar, came up with a little flamenco riff, and JB had been sitting there in the control room on the sofa. All of a sudden he starts flipping through his notebook and says ‘Can I cut some vocals? I’ve got something that I wrote a while ago.’
